Daniel helped found Matches for Minorities after years of community involvement in bone marrow donor advocacy revealed the major disparities minority patients face in finding life saving donor matches. What began through local volunteer work in Los Angeles quickly grew into a larger mission centered on healthcare equity, donor accessibility, and representation within the transplant system.Since helping establish the organization, Daniel has worked to expand donor recruitment efforts across multiple states while building partnerships with national and international registries including DKMS, NMDP, Gift of Life, WMDP, and others. Alongside his nonprofit work, he conducts immunogenetics and stem cell transplant research through UCLA and USC Keck Medicine, focusing on donor selection, transplant outcomes, and healthcare disparities affecting underrepresented populations. Through Matches for Minorities, Daniel hopes to continue bridging research, advocacy, and community engagement to make donor access more equitable for patients everywhere.
