Blood disorders, including cancers, currently do not have many treatment options. Some of the treatment options available, such as chemotherapy, can leave patients in critical need of a stem cell donation from bone marrow. However, ethnic minority patients have the lowest chance of getting a transplant because of the low percentage of minority donors on the registry.
