In February 2023, the members of Matches4Minorities (M4M) took our mission to the Flintridge Prep Community Engagement Fair. It was a fantastic opportunity to step directly into the student community, spark meaningful conversations, and share the importance of diversifying the bone marrow donor registry.
A Dedicated Space for Education
We were proud to host our own booth at the fair, anchored by a detailed presentation board designed to make the complexities of donor matching and our organization’s goals easy to understand. While we weren't able to capture photos of the event itself, we are excited to share a glimpse of the board we used to engage students throughout the day:

Why It Matters
For us, events like the Community Engagement Fair are the backbone of our work. By setting up a dedicated space, we were able to walk students through the reality of bone marrow donation—demystifying the process and highlighting the urgent need for more donors of color to step forward.
Every conversation we had at that booth was a step toward closing the gap in the registry. It was inspiring to see so many students stop by, engage with our materials, and leave with a better understanding of how they could potentially save a life. We are incredibly grateful to Flintridge Prep for providing us with the platform to share our vision, and we look forward to continuing these important discussions at future events!
