The cause of M4M resonates deeply with Annie because of her personal experiences growing up as a mixed Asian American who faced numerous health complications that resulted in long hospitalizations and ongoing medical treatment throughout her childhood. These experiences gave her firsthand insight into how physically, emotionally, and financially difficult healthcare struggles can be for both patients and their families. Through this, she became increasingly aware of the disparities that minorities often face within the healthcare system, including limited access to resources, lack of representation, and financial barriers that prevent many individuals from receiving the care they need. Annie strongly believes that everyone deserves equal access to healthcare regardless of their background or circumstances, especially families seeking life-saving treatments such as bone marrow transplants or financial support for medical care. Her experiences have shaped her passion for advocating for underserved communities and supporting efforts that work toward making healthcare more accessible, compassionate, and equitable for all.
